Fatum has been has been operating in the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba since 1904 where it is licensed to transact life and non-life insurance business. In 2003 Fatum was purchased from ING by the successful Guardian Holdings Limited, Fatum has offices in Bonaire and St Maarten and employs approximately 200 employees, most of whom are located in Curacao and Aruba.

Fatum is currently the market leader in insurance business in the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba and was recently restructured into three separate companies under the holding company, Fatum Holding N.V.: Fatum Life N.V., Fatum Health N.V. and Fatum General Insurance N.V. Its wide range of insurance services is provided to private, corporate and institutional clients through independent Dutch Caribbean insurance brokers and bank channels.
