Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited is engaged in the underwriting of all classes of long-term insurance business as defined in the Insurance Act, 1980, as well as associated investment activities. The company continues to lead the field in life insurance underwriting in Trinidad & Tobago, with over 100,000 policies, $15 billion of total insurance coverage in-force and 450 life agents. The investments of GLOC are judiciously spread among local, regional and foreign securities. GLOC’s operations expanded in 2004 to include a full range of employee benefits products. There are 16 Branches and two Agencies in five locations in Trinidad, with a service centre in Tobago. Regionally, a new branch office was opened in Barbados in March 2005.
