Given the
culturally diverse society in which we operate, GHL and its member companies
contribute to organizations whose intentions are to enhance the quality of life,
in every aspect, for the citizens of the Caribbean.As a rule
we seek activities and projects that are sustainable and that would impact the
wider community. One such example in which GHL has put its stamp is in the
still fledgling sport in Trinidad & Tobago of Dragon Boat racing. GHL was the
inaugural sponsor of an Independence Day Annual GHL Charity Dragon Boat Regatta
in 2006. Each year since then funds raised are given to the
Credo Foundation for Justicee which operates several homes for displaced
children in Trinidad & Tobago.
GHL and
its employees also contribute to United Way, an NGO which supports financially
and through human resources, other NGOs. Employees commit to monthly salary
deductions and the organisation contributes at the end of the year. Further, in
line with its green theme, GHL gives a donation, on behalf of its corporate
clients and providers, to United Way in lieu of purchasing Christmas cards.
GIFT (Guardian
Initiatives for Transformation) is led by an employee committee working
through GIFT Champions across the Group.
The GIFT Charter sets out how they engage and inspire others in a journey
toward increased volunteerism.
