The establishment of the Guardian Life Wildlife Fund www.glwildlife.org  in 1992 was an early manifestation of this interest. Its mandate is to nurture an environmentally responsible consciousness by raising awareness of the enormous issues attached to the question of preservation and conservation and by working with environmentalists in the field.

The Fund is managed by a Board of Trustees under the distinguished patronage of former first lady, Mrs. Zalayhar Hassanali and Chaired by Dr. Carol James. Other members of the Trust are Maria Rivas-Mc Millan, Irwin Joseph, Gerard Pinard, Janice Hernandez, Howard Nelson and Mark Webster.
